Such a great studio! Clayroom has an amazing selection of six week classes and the instructors are all super helpful and friendly. The staff is always around to help and provide feedback. Love that it's in a super convenient location next to Caltrain and Hillsdale mall! Would 100% recommend (:

I have been a member at clay room for a little over a year now and the facilities and staff are EXCELLENT. I have taken 3 classes thus far. All of which were taught by patient and knowledgeable instructors. I learned a lot of techniques in each class. The instructor tried their best to answer all my questions and help/challenge me to improve my skills. Since starting my membership, the staff have been incredibly professional, mindful, kind and most importantly happy to share their knowledge. T

My now 11 year old daughter started at The Clayroom when she was 10. Has taken the kids intro class several times now and has loved it each time. The teachers have been great. As a parent, I have had a terrific experience working with the co-head of the San Mateo studio who has been responsive to getting my child enrolled in the classes and making it easy to foster my daughter's love for art and clay!

I've been going to Clayroom San Mateo for over 18 months-starting as a student who took two classes before becoming a member (even though I live in the South Bay). The studio is clean, bright, and airy, providing the perfect balance of quiet workspace and community atmosphere. All the instructors and staff are friendly, patient, and fun. I've brought my kids for their try days and my mom as a guest, and my family experienced the same kindness and support that was offered to me. I often see event

This review is long overdue! I joined Clayroom San Mateo as a member in January 2024, a few months after the studio first opened. I had been a member and taken classes/workshops at several studios around the Bay Area, including the other Clayroom locations in SoMa and Potrero. Full disclosure: I started teaching part-time after becoming a member and have taught the try days and intro to clay classes but will keep my review as objective as possible and only focus on my time here as a paid member
