So close but feels remote, excellent birding & wildlife viewing opportunities, plentiful parking, well-maintained paths & bridges, family-friendly terrain. Hidden gem!

Breathtaking retreat into nature's serenity right on the bay's edge. Spanning wetlands, salt marshes, and tidal flats, the refuge supports diverse wildlife-from migratory birds like egrets and herons to shorebirds and even raptors. Wide, flat trails made of gravel and boardwalks make it a joy for walkers, cyclists, and families with strollers. Interpretive signs and overlook platforms throughout the area provide family-friendly educational moments and great photo opportunities. What stands out

Visited last week at sunset for a scenic drive. Enjoyed breathtaking views of the bay, with the setting sun on one side and the rising moon on the other. Highly recommended for afternoon strolls and exploring trails.

An unexpected surprise. Easy walk and beautiful view. Definitely will be back sometime. The first thing you see are the red painted house, the bridges on the marshy shoreline, birds on the salt pond, and California poppies, other local wild flowers scattered throughout the hills. It's like a painting in the sun. You can see Coyote Regional Park and you may walk along the marshy shoreline to the park. One suggestion: Hope some of the dog owners respect the wildlife here and follow the rules NOT
