Theater For the New City

Went here for the free art festival. It was fun to see how creative people in the community truly are. Would love to see more. However, I think they should work on making the interior and exterior a bit more presentable. A fresh new coat of paint and art outside could bring more attention to the venue.

Gotta say... terrible play. I see why it is off Broadway. Actors were good. There was some guy behind us that laughed out loud at what were supposed to be jokes or at least humourous comments on family situations. Not at all clever or funny. This guy must have been a plant and was oblivious to people looking at him and rolling their eyes 👀 while he destroyed the experience for the audience.

Get ready for the GOOD, BAD & UGLY!!!! GOOD *** The theatre's staff were very friendly and helpful. Performers for this play were talented performers UGLY *** Things started with the usual announcement turn phones off and No Filming. The guy in front of me started filming with his phone holding it above his head. This blocked my view. I let it go on for a good 5 minutes and then leaned forward and asked if he was going to do that the entire performance. He got really mad shushed me and told

Went to see this play which my niece not only choreographed , but acted and was assistant director as well. A must see laugh out loud play! Love the audience participation too. I don't want to give too much away, Check this out. Performance tonight at 8pm. Tell your friends

This theatre is truly a pillar of the Lower East Side and of the wider theatre community. They always showcase such interesting and dynamic performances, and the space itself is super funky and full of amazing artwork. The main floor has a welcoming bar and a convenient box office, which makes the whole experience even better. I love seeing shows here and feel lucky to have watched friends perform and have their work produced on this stage. I'm especially a big fan of Melanie Maria Goodreaux-Fi
