I joined this community at the beginning of the year with my daughter in the Mini Makers Studio, and it's been so wonderful all around. I hated not being able to give my child my full attention during the day while trying to work full time from home. This place has helped with my work-life balance and now I feel like I can focus on my work at work, and come home and focus on being a mom instead of trying to juggle both. When looking for under two daycare I disregarded initial recommendations for The Makers Place. I loved the idea of a co-working space, but I didn't think it was a viable option for someone working full time. After nearly a year of searching my return to work was rapidly approaching and I was still unhappy with my daycare options. As a first-time mum transitioning back to work, I was nervous about putting my son into daycare and being away from him. However, The Makers Place has truly been the perfect solution! It's the best of both worlds-I can get work done while still being close by and available if anything comes up. The co-working space is fantastic; I can always find a quiet, comfy spot with reliable wifi, which beats the hustle and bustle of a noisy coffee shop any day. This place helped us reset. We went from trying to work during naps to having real focus time. The daycare team is amazing-so warm and loving. Our twins are happy, thriving, and we get photo updates all day. It's also just nice to be around other parents figuring it out. We even started meal planning again. That says a lot.

I think the concept of having childcare while parents are in a "coworking" space is good, but not well executed here. Most of the daycare staff are young kids who found the job description online and have no real childcare experience. Our child was 4 months old when he started here, and he was basically left to sit in a bouncer most of the time while a group of 2-6 other kids filled a space that is about 8' x 8' room.
