I am really pleased that I stopped at The Baker Next Door. They offer a nice variety - from pastries, to bread, coffee and other beverages, to sandwiches and toasts. I had the avocado toast, along with matcha tea. The toast was delicious, generous in size, and accompanied by a very fresh looking and tasting salad. The matcha tea was very good. I stopped into The Baker Nextdoor in Redwood City and was truly impressed. I enjoyed a wonderfully crafted cappuccino, made with care and perfect balance-smooth, rich, and comforting. My breakfast sandwich was absolutely decadent. It came with a perfectly fried soft egg, cheddar cheese, and ham, and I requested a touch of mayonnaise. Cute place, with really amazing savory and sweet baked good. I like the community-based ethos and everyone there seemed happy. They increase cost of pastries to provide a living wage to all employees which I thought was amazing. That having been said they don't provide WiFi or power outlets in the dining area so it is pretty unfriendly to anyone wanting to work in the coffee shop for a while and that was a turn off to me. Otherwise it was a lovely experience.
