Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve Trail

Incredible there is such a place so close to tech companies like Google and Meta. I used to do a lot of biking around here, but walking, particularly at sunset, is always great. Great for bird watching as there are literally thousands of them around.

Great spot to hike and bike, and watch shore birds in the bay.

My first time and I've been in CA forty years. Lots of trails.

Went for a counter clockwise loop run the afternoon of Boxing Day. Around 5.5 miles long with only 150 feet elevation gain. A bit smelly in places. Lots of planes flying overhead. Nice gravel trail throughout. Trail connects to the freeway at around mile 4, then you run on the footpath to get back to the parking lot.

I came to run on the trail it was partly closed so there way 1.5 mile each way and So I mixed it with the near Bay trail and that was amazing ! There were beautiful pelicans to watch too !
