Lula Washington Contemporary Dance Foundation

I'm writing a review response to Disappointed Dancer, who says she regrets sending her daughter to LWDT... I work with some of the phenomenal drummers who perform there and I have a couple of thoughts to share.... the performing arts are not for every enthusiastic youth, as is often proven on TV contests. I've been a member of the Lula Washington Dance Theatre since 2006, it's a great place that I can always call my dance home! I've toured and performed with the company for many years and am very greatful that its a part of the Los Angeles artistic community! :-)

My experience with Lula Washington Dance Theatre has been great. She cares about how the students are trained and her classes are small enough to accommodate the individual needs of the students. She (as well as her staff) train the students in such a way that their talents are individually showcased during the recital and/or Christmas performances. The presentation and celebration was uplifting. The dancers were talented and amazing. We really enjoy the playing of the gifted drummers... they make us want get up and move to the rhythm of beats.
